Soundcast cookies policy
This site sets no cookies of its own. The notes below explain what cookies are, so that you can judge other sites and set your browser accordingly.
What cookies are and what they are for
A cookie is a small file downloaded to your device when you open certain websites. It stores and retrieves information about your browsing, such as your choices and habits. Some cookies are necessary for a site to function. Using cookies does not, in itself, give access to your personal data.
Kinds of cookies
By lifetime, cookies are either session cookies or persistent ones. Session cookies collect and store data while you visit a site and disappear when the browser is closed; they hold information needed only once. Persistent cookies stay on the device and can be read for a period set by whoever created them, from a few minutes to several years.
By who manages them, cookies are first-party, sent from a domain run by the site publisher to provide the service you asked for, or third-party, sent from a domain run by another organisation that handles the data they collect.
By purpose, there are four groups. Technical cookies let you browse and use the options of a site or application. Profiling cookies give you predefined general features based on criteria such as language and settings. Analytical cookies let a site owner track and analyse behaviour in order to measure activity and improve the site. Advertising cookies manage the advertising space a publisher places on a site.
Switching cookies off in a browser
Cookie settings are reflected directly in the browser you use. Most browsers let you choose whether to accept cookies and which types; the option usually sits under settings or preferences. Refusing them may leave parts of some websites out of reach and make browsing less smooth.
Using a browser feature such as full-page translation can itself install third-party cookies, set by the browser vendor and outside the control of the site publisher. Instructions for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome and Safari are on each vendor’s own help pages.
